INTERSCALE INSTRUMENTS
Demonstration
instruments 12 inches (300 mm) in height, and aranged with the scale as high as
possible so that it will appear clearly above any other apparatus wich may be on
the bench. They have a scale length of 8 inches (200 mm). All the working parts
are plainly visible through glass paneles at the front and at the back of the
instrument. Dials are scaled on both sides so that the lecturer can read the
instrument when behind it. There is an exeternal zero adjuster wich also permits
the instrument to be set for centre or side zero working. They are fitted with
moving coil spring controlled centre pole movements with anodised aluminium coil
formers, and have hardened and polished steel pivots set in sprung sapphire
jewelled bearings , thus providing a robust, efficient and well damped movement.
The instrument cases are of selected hardwood with a wide base to ensure
stbility and are fitted with three rubber feet, so disposed as to permit one
instrument to stand conveniently on the top of another should the instrument
through a slot in the side of the instrument case. This arrangement minimises
the possibility of Terminals are of the insulated captive screw type with 4 mm
sockets . interscale demonstration instruments are calibrated to an accuracy of ±
2% for d.c. functions and sinusoidal a.c. functions. Without scale.Two different
models are available:

is the Standard Interscale Instrument with a full scale deflection for 5
milliamps at 100 millivolts. All interscale dials may be used with this
instrument except the High Sensitivity dials. |

This
is a High Sensitivity Instrument with a full scale deflection for 300 microamps
at 100 millivolts. It is provided to meet the needs of the more sensitive d.c.
ranges and special High Sensitivity dials are available for use with this
instrument in addition to the standard range of dials.
